Tajinderpal Singh Toor Wins Asian Games Silver, Dedicates Medal to Infant Daughter
Indian athlete Tajinderpal Singh Toor won a silver medal in the shot put event at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. Although he hoped to win gold for the third time in a row, he was happy with his achievement and dedicated the medal to his 10-month-old daughter, Rabab Kaur Toor.
Toor threw the shot put 20.64 metres and won the silver medal. Iran’s Mohammadreza Tayebise won gold with a throw of 20.81 metres, while Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Tolu won bronze with 20.48 metres. Toor had won gold medals at the 2018 and 2022 Asian Games. He hoped to win gold again, but this time he finished second. Still, he made India proud by winning his third medal in a row at the Asian Games.

Richest MLA in Maharashtra Goes Undercover as a Beggar

Some people offered him food, even though they did not know who he really was. Surprisingly, even the security guard at his own office did not recognise him.
Shah said the experience taught him about kindness, humility and the struggles of people who have very little. He also realised that people may behave differently towards someone depending on their appearance and financial status.

An Open Drain Took a Young Life — Jasola Mourns a 15-Year-Old”
A 15 year old boy lost his life after falling in an open drain in Jasola. His father spent three days searching for him. A 15-year-old boy, studying in Class 8, went missing around 11am on Saturday, after allegedly falling into an open drain in Delhi's Jasola while chasing a kite. This incident has turned out to trigger a multi-agency search raising concern over exposed drains in Delhi.
According to police, Mithun fell into the open drain while he was trying to catch a kite. Another boy who witnessed the entire incident immediately informed the family, and the other authorities related to it.

Bengaluru Engineer Loses Rs 1.94 Crore After Clicking on ‘Quantum AI’ Trading Ad
A 47-year-old software engineer in Bengaluru allegedly lost nearly Rs 1.94 crore after being lured into an online investment scam advertised on Facebook. The scam promoted a trading scheme called “Quantum AI” and persuaded him to invest through a platform named Proxtrend.
According to the police complaint, the engineer first saw the advertisement in February 2026. After clicking on it, he was contacted by someone claiming to be a trading account manager who guided him through the investment process.
The engineer reportedly transferred a total of Rs 1,94,68,235 between February 27 and September 9, hoping to earn profits from trading.
When he later tried to withdraw a larger amount, he allegedly faced repeated delays and was encouraged to invest more money instead. He was also reportedly told that additional payments were needed to release his funds. The engineer eventually approached the police. A case was registered at Bengaluru's East CEN police station on September 17, on charges including cheating, identity theft and impersonation. The investigation is ongoing.

Bengaluru Cab Driver Accused of Harassing 18-Year-Old Passenger During Late-Night Ride
An 18-year-old student in Bengaluru has accused a cab driver of inappropriate behaviour during a late-night journey near Doddakallasandra.
According to the complaint, the student fell asleep during the ride. She later alleged that the driver touched her and tried to kiss her. When she tried to get out of the cab, she alleged that the doors were locked and the vehicle continued moving.
The woman then raised an alarm and screamed, after which the driver reportedly stopped and allowed her to leave. Her luggage was left in the cab and was later returned.
Konanakunte police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and began investigating the allegations. The accused is entitled to due process, and the allegations have not been established by a court.

A Mother's Courage: Woman Risks Her Life to Save Family Trapped in Pond
A 38 year old woman identified at Surta Parmar bravely saved a 11 month old baby and the family, after their car fell into nearly 10-foot-deep pond in Rajasthan's Dungarpur district. Their family was reportedly travelling from Dungarpur to Banswara to attend a wedding, and their car hit the divider and lost control and plunged into the pond. Surta Parmar then heard the baby cries and immediately jumped into the pond to save her and the family. The family was rushed to the hospital. The baby was treated and later discharged, while the parents suffered fractures and needed further treatment. Later, all of them were reported to be out of danger.

A 16 year old girl and class 11 student from uttarpradesh, boarded a sleeper bus near Pari Chowk, Greater Noida on 4th August due to heavy rain. She was offered a lift by the driver and conductor towards Noida.
The police officers alleged that the girl was assaulted inside this moving bus, during it's journey towards Delhi. The bus travelled for 47 kilometres, before she was abandoned near to the Kashmere gate. Both the driver and conductor have been arrested, and the bus has been for forensic examination.

Jabalpur Extortion Case: Woman Arrested Over Alleged ₹20 Lakh Demand

Home Break-In Turns Violent in Bengaluru; Two Suspects Escape
A 31-year-old man named P. Jagadish from Maruthi Layout, Bengaluru, had a frightening experience after returning home from a late-night movie.
Jagadish had locked his house around 10:15 p.m. and gone out with his friends. When he came back at around 1:30 a.m., he found that his front door was open. Two men were reportedly still inside his house.
When Jagadish confronted them, one of the men allegedly hit him on the head with an iron rod. Jagadish ran outside and called his neighbours for help. The two men then escaped on a bike.
Jagadish later told police that 20 grams of gold jewellery and 45 grams of silver ornaments were missing from his house. He suffered a serious head injury and was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged. Police are investigating the case and trying to identify the two suspects.

College Student Arrested After Allegedly Stealing Gold to Buy Boyfriend a Bike
A 19-year-old student from Pollachi in Tamil Nadu was arrested for allegedly stealing 72 grams of gold jewellery from the home of her father's friend. According to police, she sold the stolen jewellery for about ₹2.5 lakh and allegedly spent the money on purchasing a new KTM bike as a gift for her boyfriend.
According to reports, the student visited the house on August 16 to meet her friend. After she left, the house owner noticed that gold jewellery kept in a wardrobe was missing and filed a complaint with the police. Police questioned the student, and she allegedly admitted to selling the gold jewellery and using the money to buy a bike for her boyfriend.
A video of the new bike was also reportedly shared on social media, which brought more attention to the case. The student was arrested, and police were reportedly searching for her boyfriend as part of the investigation.
